Two inverse problems in ultrasound imaging

abstract: Computational imaging methods are extensively used nowadays to form, process and analyze ultrasound images. In this talk I will highlight them through two applications: beamforming and artifact detection in lung ultrasound. In both cases, a model linking the observed (measured) data to the image of interest is established. These observation models are further inversed using regularization-based techniques, in particular using the plug&play framework and respectively using a Cauchy distribution to promote sparsity.
