Workshop | Rome: MATCHES 2024 – MAThematical CHallenges to and from new technologiES

Where and when

Rome, Italy – September 5-6, 2024

MATCHES aims to promote collaborations between researchers working in applied math and computer science, and start-ups and high-tech SMEs. The MIDA group will participate in the workshop with a talk by Sabrina Guastavino and Emma Perracchione, and Michele Piana will serve as the coordinator of the RoundTable.

  • Sabrina Guastavino will provide a talk on the use of AI tools for space weather prediction "Artificial Intelligence as a warning machine to predict SpaceWeather phenomena"
  • Emma Perracchione will provide a talk on "Mathematical Challenges for Astronomical Imaging: a kernel-based approach"
  • Michele Piana will coordinate the RoundTable: "Applied Mathematics as a cornerstone for industry and academia: Possible goal or chimera?"
